June 2007: “City of the Outcasts”

Salutations, brave mini bosses! Zombie Dan here once again. And you know what that means. Shattered asylum windows, green mist wafting in from the sea, and a terrible cacophonous gibbering you swear is coming from the sink.

In other words, it’s just about time to go nuts with the D&D Minis. Last month’s 100-point DarkSun-themed pit fights ended up with some very odd alliances. With six players, it was bound to get weird. But everybody had a great time, despite some lag-time around the beginning.

This month we’re taking a break from the scorching heat of the great outdoors and heading for the hustle and bustle of the big city. Where the royal constables are just another gang in an endless battle over turf, and the fragile truce lasts only so long as the last keg of ale. But the streets hide a darker secret, where sewer-dwelling rat-men and shapeless horrors wait in the darkness.

Saturday, June 9, Gamescape North is proud to host another spine-tingling D&D Miniatures skirmish: City of the Outcasts!

In every tavern across town, you can hear the grumbling of terrible rumors; the beer-waggon has been waylaid! The latest shipment of dwarven ale was taken Moradin-knows-where, and every gang is pointing fingers at the other. Was it the West-Side Necromancers? The Goblinoid Guzzlers? The Drunken Master and his gang of Tavern Brawlers ? The race is on to find the hidden kegs and return them to your tavern. Take a shortcut through the sewers if you dare, but the rat-folk don’t take kindly to intruders. And there are things worse than rats…and fates worse than death…

The game starts at 1p.m. Be there at noon to trade figures with other players, buy stuff from our kindly NPC merchants and be ready to get your game on! Warband size will depend on how many players show up, so be on time and versatile.
